Childcare At Home During COVID-19

Since our founding in 2004 Whole Child has been supporting overwhelmed and undertrained caregivers to care for children in environments with very limited resources. Never has the need for our expertise been greater, with millions of parents caring for their children during the extremely challenging lockdown caused by the coronavirus. Parents don't have the support of their extended family, schools, friends or even access to their local park.

In order to respond to this acute situation, Whole Child is launching a series of online trainings and mentoring sessions that will directly support parents. We need to create a community of practice to help parents cope in these difficult times. The key to this approach is to leverage the reach of technology now that face to face interaction is not possible. Through this platform, we can provide support, connection and share solutions to challenges that parents are facing.

Here are some of the topics we will be covering:

1.     Creating a safe and engaging environment at home

2.     Providing constructive discipline

3.     Helping kids stay active while in isolation

4.     Taking care of yourself and your loved ones

5.     Making your relationships stronger

6.     Communicating with your children

7.     Undertaking positive at-home routines for families

8.     Learning at home

Thank you for your continued support in this difficult time. We need your help to reach the many who need our help. #EmbracingTheFuture
